NY state thruway tollsbooths getting really bad lately - approaching EZpass lane ex34 in Syracuse area. Nobody is around driving about 10mph.
As soon as my front bumper reached the tollbooth I looked thru my driverside window and a cop was looking right at me. And then waving me to pullover. He was hiding behind the tollbooth and standing high on milkcrate or bucket or something so he can see me clearly. I was not buckled - $109 fine. Again.
And then last week my safety manager had a talk with me - they received a warning from NYS thruway authority. My truck was "speeding" the whole 12mph thru EZpass lane and if that happens again in the next 90days they will suspend my transponder.
I don't love NY. Now I have to buckle up not only for weigh stations but for a tollbooths too!!!
And it is impossible to drive 5mph thru that tollbooth..no other trucks drive 5mph thru toll.
If anyone driving around this area - you been warned.
Too bad there is not many options to bypass the thruway

    rank Thanks this.

As much as I dislike seatbelts, that deal cost you 21 points. Yep 7 times 3 for the first year. Plus your company just took a hit on their score. Company I used to be leased too, if you got a seatbelt ticket or using your mobile non hands free, kiss your lease goodbye right then and there..

Last two days tried to actually slowdown from 65 to 5 and drive 5mph all the way thru tollbooth. I had to drop to 4th gear and on the other end of it as line of cars and trucks finally was able to pass me I thought I would get shot.
As far as seatbelt goes - I never buckle up. And never will I would rather pay the fine. It's a free country right? I choose to break that law and I not winning but warning other nonseatbelters:)

He was literally looking at me in the mirror at all times as I was slowly pulling over and he was walking towards the cab. He would see me - couldn't do it

Seriously. So, I should expect to see the OP flipped on the off ramp I need to take 5 or 6 times a week.
