I get what she's saying, THIS one rule doesn't allow them to search you and doom n gloom but it opens the revolving door that anything can come next.

The big thing we're fighting for here is FEDERAL MANDATORY SATELLITE TRACKING .

    Not being safe by H.O.S.

This is only a bridge towards passing what ever else private interests have.

Who probably pushed this more than anyone? Let's try the companies who are going to profit a $100 or more a pop off EVERY truck on American roads... Omnitracs maybe?

It ain't about lying and cheating, most of y'all do that anyways in your personal life but then want to be self righteous when it comes to safety first in trucking.

... it's about being apply to apply common sense where needed. U start your clock at 7am show up on time for a pick up, well it takes 4 hours to load. U slept through those hours but now your 14 hours are jacked up. Paper logs says- driver you did not show up until noon to load this load, you are rested now ROLL ON.

... or oh my, run out of time 30 miles from the house ... paper logs says gone on home truck driver you did well ... e logs says O NO BUDDY, stop now in the name of FEDERAL law you ugly truck driver, you are no longer safe to move an inch

Elogs or paper. If I'm an hour or so away from home I'm going. They can slap me down all they want.

Every one seems to think they are going to run out of hours 30 miles from home. Just tell the shipper get step up the pace and load the truck faster. Then you won't run out of hours only 30 miles from home. Why take a log book violation.

"Everyone" seems to think you can set up a perfect scenario day to day.

Things happen, you push the limit one day because there's a chance you could make it home after delivery n dead head. Boom, 30 miles short. Happens all the time

It wouldn't be a log violation for a paper log guy. he would write up his perfect day where it all worked.

Technically if empty off duty drive can be logged on E-log.

Talk about how safe an e log driver is when pushing up against those last invisible minutes, or long Haul on a low 70... driving like sin to make it work putting whomever in danger

I've been e log since 2011, no big deal really. But there have been many times paper logs could have saved the day, allowed me the wiggle room to not be so hard pressed against the clock

Kool aid drinkers are brain washed and need rules and to be baby sit and to hold hands with bed time stories

How people act like you can only work 13 hours a day. Then you can use the extra hour as your flexibility backup hour to get you home or to truck stop

No matter what the limits are people will always want more.

I drive a truck every day. I was kinda joking because let's face it people are never going to like idea of having to stop because the ELD say they have to. The drivers on paper logs are not going to give up. Driver just have to adapt or work on changing the laws they don't like.

They act like they are tough guys, they should have don't something almost 2 years ago when the law was passed. Since shipper and receivers don't care why should drivebe driver crazy hours ? They can just reschedule the load and maybe even pay detention time.

Eld's is nothing more but a pay cap. FMCSA once again Telling the truck driver how much money they can make. Otherwise what's the point in them? They sure as heck don't make anyone safer. I mean anyone can put they are in a sleeper birth or off duty and not be "really resting" anyone can go off duty or to sleeper birth on your log book for 10 hours but really only got 3 hours of the 10 in sleep and then go out driving and cause yourself and everyone around you harm. I don't see the logic behind them. Like I said. Just one more way for the FMCSA to tell you as a working American how you are going to work and run your show. It's to prevent anyone from future gains. NO one makes the motor carrier or the police officer run a log with how much time off and sleep they had before working the graveyard shift. Nope just truck drivers! Cause there is a ton of money to be made but not at the Mercy of the ELD and FMCSA!
