There are situations where the regs say 'this is ok' but in reality it is an accident waiting to happen. Take for instance people (morons) slam into the rear of a semi because they didn't see it. Now how do you expect them to see the ends of two poles extending beyond the dolly? Why is an extended load in one scenario ok but not ok in another similar scenario despite the fact that they both create an identical hazard? Btw California can't get anything straight. We can't allow you to breathe dirty air but go ahead and impale your vehicle on these poles.

When I was growing up the Old Style cans had a picture of a frog on top of a funnel. My dad, who was a Pabst drinker, used to tell us kids "The frog on the funnel is basically the Old Style factory"
