    Who cares?

    Seriously you guys should be upset with something called the internet that allows anyone to become a broker.

    Uber, Uber - reminds me of the History Channel;
    Germans used to sing Deutchland, Deutchland Uber Alles" and the raised their right hands up at the same time. Well U in Uber in that case had two dots above.

    Funny how Uber became just another trucking company. The internet created way more opportunities than the extra worthless excess of brokers it spawned.

    Uber didn't just decide to get into the trucking industry for ####s and giggles. I'm certain they took a good hard look at the industry and figured out flaws they can improve on.

    And these "improvements" include how to better exploit drivers to maximize profit.

    Simple solution. Don't let them exploit you. Get a fair market value rate or don't take the load. It's not that difficult. pretty simple in fact.

    Someone enlighten me,please, what is new about what Uber wants to be in freight hauling business that Landstar and Mercer and a few others are not already. What can be that different? Is Schneider ICC choice program (or whatever they call it) not about pick and click only?

    It should be simple. But it gets hard when your competitors are lining up to be exploited.

    Look at the Celadon/Quality threads for the last year -- typical one goes "Hi what does everyone think about Celadon/Quality? I want to get my own truck but have no money and bad credit" then a few people reply how terrible Quality is, and then the original poster responds "maybe so, but they'll get me a truck when no one else will so I'm going with them"

    Look at Taxi drivers. It wasn't like they were getting rich, but now they've got idiots competing with them for less money using their personal vehicles.

    Uber has self-driving trucks (they own Otto)

    That might be easier said than done for some drivers.
