I once had to move 10 wide load tractor trailers 400 miles by myself. I was only given one day for the move,I had a bunch of tow bars , so I connected all them mothers together, Did the whole move in 4 hours saving the company toll money since I had a single tractor trailer unit.I also saved them fuel since I only had my 3000 hp tractor in gear...........true story, ask my brother !

People insist on telling ME army stories at the counter. I love our Military but could not serve due to deafness. Figures if I was Israeli they would have me in the services long before now, they take deafies just like certain other handicaps to fight a enemy who knows no limits.,

Anyhow. Stories are stories. I grew up in a tavern and can generally see in a short time if the person is legit or not. Keep in mind this goes back towards the time of Vietnam, many were being sent over. We also had about 24 NIKE batteries guarding Baltimore and a similar number DC. We don't hear story storys from techs people too much thankfully.

Unfortunately Raven Rock which is a size of about 6 super walmarts combined is capale of holding a select ffew thousands 7 miles west by south of Camp David. We used to camp not far from up there and are familiar with the area. Congress will have a special train that is destined for mount weather which is a pretty good facility, We have a bunch of take charge and move out warplanes for nuclear war work inlcuding ringing the ELF bell for boomers to come up and take orders. This government can be destroyed but due to COG and Military processes the United States will continue to fight for a while long after you, me and 330 million ohters have been killed.

I love the military, but they can save some of the stories, especially in this day and age. 9-11 had made some changes since that ay and I think pretty good changes too.

One time, during an ice storm on I-75 in Kentucky, a four wheeler raced past me, then cut in front of me and started to swerve all over the road.

I got on the brakes, but Jesus stopped my truck.....

I once had a absolute no joke failure of the O ring seals inside the fuel pump. Now I know nothing about those things except one. A tiny amount of water splashed onto it from the steers and or a passing shower for couple of miles really killed that poor sick cabover. Absolutely killed it. Knocked me down to15 mph.

Pulled up to a intersection in which the Navy Depot maintains a large facility, this is a major major intersection. I see a broad rain front coming in from the west as forecast and looking at the red light in front and not able to move out, I knew I was dead then and there fixing to call a wrecker with like 10 angry office staffers who do not care I nursed her 84 miles and got close to the company yard.

I prayed. I put everything I was taught into the prayer. Then updated the sinners prayer for salvation, I was saved at 13 but it would not hurt to update.

That vicious rain front reached my intersection, pouring water a inch deep and flowing everywhere, winds kicking up.

But not the square I had to cross with that cab I got a few sprinkles on the glass and mirriors. Moved out instantly on the green light. I was the only strip of dry pavement as the thunder artillery rolled with lightning that turned early night into day. A few miles later I had passed the storm front relatively dry all over my truck.

A lot of people were pointing. I don't know.

If you were there, you will also absolely acknoledge that yes He lives and he is the Savior, King and your father in all things because He created you and he loved you. With this kind of love and redemption in difficult times you cannot but helped to at least give him the Glory for the great things he has done.

Now That I think is where I leave it here regarding stories. I usually do not bring in religion but there is no way to tell the story as it happened without some sort of reference and explanation as to how the sun and the rain arranged itself on that wonderful day which could have turned very easily into a horrible death march in chains to the Unemployment office figuratively speaking.

I only eat out once, sometimes twice a week because of this.
Most times I cook in the truck.
Several months ago, I made the mistake of sitting at the counter at the TA in Youngstown, OH.
Having a nice dinner, enjoying some nice casual conversation with some of the other drivers about fishing, home, and Country living.
This guy walks in and plops down at the counter. Looked liked he had just been drug through hell.
Immediately he starts complain about the current load he's on, waah, waah, waah.
After about 15 minutes, I'd had enough. Could tell a couple of the other drivers were reaching their limit.
I politely excused myself, went to the men's room, found a small roll of toilet paper on one of the dispensers.
Went back to the restaurant and set it on the counter in front of the loud mouth, and set back down to continue my meal.
He quizzically looked at me and asked what it was for.
I politely told him it was to clean up the crap coming out of his mouth, cause everyone was tired of hearing it. Needless to say, he didn't stick around very long after that.
Guess he realized, no one cared to hear his war stories anymore.
Old lesson my granddaddy taught me years ago, those who have the scars of war can rarely be heard, those who wanna be heroes can't shut up.

My favorite part about the round table stories is they always start them talking like they are about to give you the most important information you will ever receive. The long pause, the deep stare straight into your eyes, the intrusion of your personal space and then they start telling me how they used to own a 300 truck company. FFS...

....Then you have the ones that talk very slow and deliberate like they have every answer to every problem.
