Example of Schneider tanker pay

I get pretty good miles but I'm not sure exactly I never keep up with it. I can start next Monday when I leave back out. I just did 2 full weeks out, first week I ran descent and made $1497 and last week I made alittle over $1300 dollars so it was 2800 total, maybe 2850.. I got 2 days of layover pay last week though so I should've made more. But you know how it is when you pull up to coraopolis PA OC and their are 6 drivers waiting on a load ahead of you. It sucks and you sit sometimes a day. I'm out of Charlotte NC and this really benefits me a lot I believe. I go from Charlotte to South Carolina then to New Jersey or Chicago the. Back down to South Carolina or Jersey and usually repeat this till i go home or out of hours. I only get 46cpm. I usually do 10-12 days out at a time and it seems to work out the best.
Where are you out of? I'm gonna guess savanah ga? I say that cause I've heard guys say they don't run as hard as me. Also the longer you stay with snbc your miles should get better. A lot loads require 6 months and some a year experience, so you can do those yet I'm guessing. It will get better for you I believe and if it doesn't. Get that experience and find somewhere that is better for you. But for now keep grinding. Ok back to miles a week, I started 2 weeks ago on a Monday and 6 days later I had to do a reset cause I was basically out of hours and I only record driving, fuel and pre trips so I ran really hard that week. I will start keeping track of miles next week. I usually try to unload for 3 hours and get 45 bucks for it. Especially if I have time to the tank wash and not doing a new job till the next morning. No reason to rush unloading in this situation, if that makes since.

Maybe your not getting the miles I am or maybe it's just the pay difference but I will help you in anyway I can. I set goals for myself when I'm out running for example. If I have to go get a trailer and go get loaded my minimum goal for that day is to drive 400 paid miles and get loaded. I usually go over this but This my minimum, same if I'm unloading, I want atleast 400 paid miles driven. If I'm just waking up to drive all day, I want a minimum of 600 miles paid driven. Now everyday of course this doesn't work but most of the time I get it done

 

That's pretty good, well I think so, when I stay out 14 days.. That is what my total is, 2750to 2950 usually.. the first week is usually the biggest like 1500 or lil better then the second is always smaller.. I guess it's because I usually get in a reset the beginning of second week so I have enough hours to run hard all way thru the second. But I have had a 1600 week one and be so excited and then the second week just nothing goes right and it's 1000 dollar week.. in trucking otr without being dedicated I guess these things just happen.. I'm getting back on my 10-12 days out at a time again starting next Monday. I hate doing resets on the road and I usually can make 10 or 11 days with no reset and make good money.. I can't do the 1600 week run hard thing though or I have to reset.. I've learned to try do a 1400 week and I can make it back home during second week Useing my recap hours everyday and cutting it close.

 

They have a lot freight out of the Chicago area going down into Houston and South Carolina. You just gotta talk to your Dbl and say you really want along run every week atleast. I've also stayed up their doing their shorter runs before. They love sending me up their from Chicago to Grand Rapids Michigan, which isn't to bad because I end up over at Trenton MI getting a pre loaded at basf taking it down to Charlotte to relay so I can go home. And I've said several times I really like the 10-12 days out the most of all the different senerios I've tryed because They run me hard the first week and second week it usually seems they don't run me as hard for some reason. Maybe they look at my pay and say this driver made plenty last week this week let's share the good loads with other drivers or something.. which I don't mind at all but I have my home time in and they need to have me home in like Wednesday evening of the second week. So they have no choice but to give me the big run to head usually way down worth with. I could be wrong on this but it seems I get my best pay when I stay out 10 or 11 days at a time. I use to do what a lot of guys do. Work 3 weeks straight and take a week off. But I would have to do resets on the road and end up laying over at some stupid place like Chicago quala wash or up in Trenton michigan.

 

I'm not sure how they get the distances from location to location. I know it's zip code to zip code but is this in a straight line, like as the crow flys. This really is incorrect and screws us drivers over bad. It's like when your in Coraopolis TW and u need to go to Elwood city to grab a preload. The job says it's like 17 miles, so that's what we get paid to get their 17 miles worth of pay. But no matter which way you go their is like 34 miles. So you drive double the miles to get their. I use this as an example because it's the worst difference in miles that I recall. Sometimes jobs aren't bad, a 900 pay mile run and only drive 926 miles. Sometimes I drive 2 extra hours for free.. I know this is just trucking and part of it. I'm just saying it sucks lol.. anybOdy agree(

 

Are you the driver I talked to at the Chicago qualawash the other evening, you were moving empty and stuff. The first time we met was when you were brand new and we delivered loads in the oil field in New Mexico ? Just seeing if I know you..

 

Oh and my first couple of months I did some good loads but alotbof trailer moves, I think this is something all new drivers go through. So don't sweat it.. just keep safe and learn maneuvering that trailer better and better. Once u hit 6 months and a year you can do pretty much any load they have at that time. And ones we can't do we drop off for locals to do
