Correct. When driving on wet roads, the light pattern really does no good showing the road at all. The headlight assembly is really nice with the two projectors...but I'm curious as to why WST did not utilize LED or HID.
I'm half tempted to just buy an HID and try it out.

The HID requires an external box that needs to be mounted somewhere. That box is also subject to all the vibration and rough ride of a semi.
The LED does not and is likely less expensive.
After seeing the results of the LEDs I got I really can't imagine HID could realistically be any better.
I could be wrong, your mileage may vary, so on and so forth...
Just a thought... -
@HaulinCars
True. Those are the things that have to be considered. When looking at the headlight housing, there is actually quite a bit of room inside if the box fits through the hole. So the HID converter box could be placed inside and kept out of the weather. Whichever kit it is determines the size of this thing. In addition, I found LED kits that have the same box that allows the LED housing to be smaller. Regarding both LED and HID depends on the MFG and kit they offer. -
A friend of mine has a 5700XE and he goes through headlight and fog light bulbs like crazy. Even the LEDs seem to be going out and I think the latest once he bought were made by PIAA.
My 4900 came with sealed beam head lights. Talk about a slap in the face. I replaced mine with Speakers LEDs. Big difference and they are holding up to the rocks better too.HaulinCars Thanks this. -
Has your friend with the 5700XE tried an HID setup yet? -
Yeah, I'm in agreement, they must have been expensive.....
My question is HOW WELL DO THEY WORK? Are they even sort of worth the cost? Anybody have a set that they would like to report about? -
