Yep i ain't knocking the guy. Just trying to make sure he understands what the real potential is. Just like a year ago our two, whenever it was, that he first got a truck and was leased to some Cartier paying him peanuts. I kept after him to seek better, and he did.

Fyi, produce broker that's a buddy of mine told me today that was having to pay 4k from Florida to Cleveland/pittsburgh/chicago. Reefer or vented van, either works. I asked him what Boston was costing him and his response "i don't want to talk about it"

Obviously not every truck is getting that, but that's what he is having to pay the guys that know how to work the market. Holiday weekend and those melons gotta go no matter what it costs.

Some guys get on my nerves. I pull out of a door and had to back up next to it for these guys to seal me up. I pull up, turn the flashers on, beep the air horn, and start backing up. This other guy, despite all this continues to try and get around back of me to line up for this door. I beep the air horn again and he keeps going. I had to stop to avoid hitting him, meanwhile he doesn't have room to line up now. I had to pull forward so he could get room and as I'm finally able to get out of the way he flips me off? Pay attention and use your ears every once in a while.

Another one of the recaps just separated. They aren't blowing, the tread is coming off completely, just shoulders and steel left. I think I'm going through with my plan and just get the other two off of here. This is ridiculous.

My only experience with caps was bad too. Never again.

If its down to the steel belts, that's the casing coming apart, not the cap. That's common with cheap recappers that don't properly test the casings. Look at the sidewall and find the date. Would be interesting to know just how old the casings are.

You do realize that even "virgin" tires are capped tires right? The process of how the tires are made for virgin is the same for recaps. It really comes down to the glue that is used and the type of tread put on.

Here are a couple videos for reference.

At this point I have zero trust in the two left. Every time I hear noises over the Road surface I'm looking around expecting to see rubber flying. I'm paranoid now, 2 more days and I'll be rid of them.

Right. I would bee getting them off to. I'm just trying to help you understand the issue is these cheapo recaps, and not all recaps.

In the last 7 years I have not run on recaps at all. All this time I have not had a single explosion, just usual flats caused by punctures. Prior to that when recaps were used by the company I had been with, the explosions were all too common, all the damage and hazard they caused plus my time wasted was horrible. Based and this experience, I'll never be convinced to using recaps again.
