That would entirely depend on your swing clearance. You'd be hard pressed to find a stepdeck though that would handle the weight that would require the jo dog. It would also be significantly lighter at that point to just run a pusher axle on the tractor.

Also have to keep in mind that the jo dog adds a good amount to the deck height on a fixed neck trailer.

Jeeps and boosters look cooler than lift and flip up axles :p

Yes slide the fifth wheel. Wouldn't work on a regular stepdeck. We have specialty stepdecks and flatdecks they work with.

Going backwards is easy lol. I can back it in spots no problem. Even parallel park!

Oh I agree that it can be done. I'm getting better at it the more I pull the jeep. So far I'm the only guy at my company who can back with everything in a line. The other guy who pulls it thinks that it's completely impossible and has to drop the jeep every time. I refuse to do that and put 90,000 lbs on my 2 drive axles.

Jeeps are easy to back up.
Stingers, even pined and air dropped, can be difficult.

This is a solution for the ones that run into Alberta. No lift axles on a tractor, if you can lift a tractor axle in Alberta, they require the axle to be chained up so you cannot use it. So it is either 3 drive axles or a jo dog.

    Oxbow and cke Thank this.

This isn't exactly what you're talking about but I've seen a few trucks with setups like this.
