We were running a team and only took home $600 a week..stay away! Now we can't get our pay and maintenance money for 45 days..never missed a truck payment. Western Express is a joke..very unprofessional people work and run this company.

That makes a lot of sense to me. I wonder if it's the people at the very top sometimes that just don't know how to run a good business-looking for ways to save 3 million and then it cost them 20 million in what they could have had if they cared to look. Like spend more money on maintenance, keeping track of trailers, hiring better people. The philosophy of doing everything cheap costs them more it seems to me. Like making a a great driver pay an overweight ticket in Virginia. He made them hundreds by running it. So, to save 84 dollars they will alienate him and he will drive back to VT next time and sit all night till it's fixed. And they will all lose hundreds and they will lose a beast of a driver. That one tiny example of many costs them many millions imho.

The guys at the top of those big companies rarely see the big picture.
you're probably better off putting in your first year and then moving to a smaller mom-and-pop owned company with like 75 trucks or less once you have the experience to get hired at one of those places. -
That's sound advice. Thank you.

Just starting out, lease purchase is really not the way to go. My advice is always start as a company driver.
WE dispatchers also play favorites. Slowly try to butter up your dispatcher. Some don't butter. They have favorites. Don't ever turn down a load. Most loads are east coast and LOTS of Pennsylvania. If you team up, it's more likely you'll get long haul. ALWAYS CHECK YOUR PAY FOR THE WEEK. They will short you every check if you're trusting.
Keep your driving record and CSA clean and in 6 months you can find a better company. ALWAYS leave on good terms any time you leave a company. You never know if you might have to return.
Good luck.x1Heavy Thanks this. -
