I DO NOT Work for them, but my understanding is they give you a Travel day HOME before your off time starts. Don't quote me on that, call the office

It is my understanding that the options are 7/7, 14/7 and 7/37/4. From the ones I know on the fleets if you are on 7/7 you run 7 days and HOPEFULLY get home on the 7th day but it is not guaranteed. same with 7/3/7/4. Of course the 14/7 is 14 days out and hopefully get home on the 14th day. Roehl has been pretty good about getting me home and others home when they are supposed to. If not that last day then early the next day.
Hope that helps. -
Fleet managers "try" to get you home for the allotted time, but there were never any guarantees. I know guys from the 7/7 14/7 fleets that were asked to leave early occasionally. Also brought in later and earlier than planned. Bottomline is that that is the base of the plan. Sometimes things need to flex. Of course anytime I asked for an extra day it was like I was stealing from them. Don't miss that stuff.

When I was there I was told I could take my time off wherever I felt the desire to. Now it's been a long time since I was there, but who are they to dictate that.
-
i imagine that any company would careless of where you took time off. i don't see it mattering or effecting the work. i'm not a driver yet but would like to become one. doing my research now. roehl seems like the best to start out with because of their payed training. how was your experience with roehl?

I would still recommend them to guys and girls wanting to get their CDL with a reputable place and not just a CDL Mill type. Good Luck...rsports Thanks this. -
Im not Roehl. But generally home time is eroded by travel to home and eroded again by a 2 am crank her up to get loaded somewhere by sunrise 300 miles away.
What I do is take a entire season off. Such as winter with it;s associated holidays etc which kills the average miles per week productivity. I would have made enough money so I can just go home and sit for 3 to 5 months enjoying slow cooking with spouse on good quality dinner and the slow time holidays. I'll get going again at the end of chain season. Be very careful to submit a leave of absence for that long a time period plus a commitment in full to return to work. You will likely be turning in your truck to the yard so someone can be assigned it and it will remain productive and making money. And you will fly home and fly back to get you new truck March 1 or something and get going.
