Today I pulled up to a red light. Put my truck in neutral and let off the clutch and the truck still acted as it was still in gear I had to hold the clutch and brake to stop from pulling off. It will not take 9th gear either. Until after a little flipping the gear selector up and down and then the problem with neutral will stop. And it will take 9th but after down shifting into lower gears the problem starts all over again. Do anyone no what's this problem.

I would get that looked at ASAP. Could be something serious. I had a truck with an 18 speed that would stay in gear even if I pulled the stick into neutral. I had to mash the stick around a bit before it would go out of gear. Company opted to have the truck driven down to the main shop (6 hours away) for a reman tranny because we were swamped. I had found a chewed up snap ring on the bottom of the housing when I pulled the PTO off during my assessment. About 2 hours into the trip she fired a countershaft out through the housing and onto the highway. Bye bye core credit.

Definetly something in the trans like a gear walking with the sliding clutch which means it could go into 2 gears at once causing lock up and scattering trans. pull over and have it looked at. If your close to PA. we can help.

I twisted my main shaft years ago on a bone head move. Every now and then it would stay in gear like @NorthernMechanic posted about.
Ran it longer than I should of. Complete rebuild. Get it looked at soon, not later
