Do you guys lay around all winter when the roads get bad?

Save my money all summer and sit next to the fire,watching all the carnage on TV.
Job is dangerous enough in summer time,Im going to protect my CDL and my life..especially at 40 cpm.
You super truckers enjoy winter.

 

I get sick of the snow in Wisconsin and considering moving south to try trucking out of Nevada or maybe Texas.

I can deal with some snowy conditions on the highway, but I'm tired of so many shippers or consignees that will not plow or salt here.

 

Winter is hazardous, not for slippery roads only, the daylight is shorter, poor visibility, cold, you sleep in truck with motor running, here the risks of kidney problems, cold, smoke inhalation. I usually park it 2-3 months during hazardous winter condition. Keep you bills under control, avoid expensive house ,cars, boats even new trucks/high payments, you won't have time to enjoy anyway and risk financial troubles.
A vacation will bring you more joy than extra 50-100,000$ debt; what for just to impress people around you with your material achievements . We are coming in this world naked , crying and full of s..., and after all this struggle we leave same way without take anything with us.

 

So, because some drivers drive on winter roads, they are supertruckers, right? Have you ever driven to the grocery store in the winter and there was food on the shelves? Was there beer at your favorite pub? Is there garbage piled up in front of your house? Guess what that means?

Dont forget where you come from.

 

I guess if we all did that you might need to eat those logs instead of burn them after a while.

 

I don't live in a city,Im surrounded by farms,easy eggs,chicken,and beef at the neighbors place.
Most freight is cheap Asian goods anyhow..lol

 

With or without your teddy bear.

 

Just go where there is no snow, I-20 and I-10 corridors. Sure you may get ice and some flurries but nothing like I-80 & I-90.

 

I'd rather drive in snow in WI, than on ice in TX
