My first ride in a truck was in 1970, was with my grandfather when he worked for PMT in Tucson. Had 2 uncles who also worked there.

    Burlington Motor Carriers

    Jevic

    New Century

    Union Carbide

    Consolidated Freight!!!

Roadway!! Witch YRC might be going under in the future.

XPO just sold off the old CFI. So it's back to just LTL at CF, or Conway.

Roadway was a great company I tell ya. But yellow came in and sent them south!!

Yes I drove for carretta. The best company out there at that time. Early 80s. Made 60.000 my first year...pete was the best dispatcher. I'll still be there but left and became a pipeline welder now I still travel the nation. But trucking will always be in my blood !

Honestly, none. If a company fails it is usually to poor business management. I would rather see intelligent business management win out and poorly managed companies fail(not being bailed out).

The only thing that truly sucks is how it affects the drivers. It definitely seems like all of these stories involve drivers who saw the writing on the wall and did nothing to find new work, however. Who is to blame there?

My truck freight liner. # 367. Bob in shop turned that cat 3406 up ! Lost my Florida license first trip threw Nebraska didnt mater back then. Had two more. Those were the good days. Remember one ticket coming down doner pass. Chip got me at 74 in a 45 zone at 2 in morning. Gave me my second ticket with a 55 mph sticker for my truck we became friends use to pull me over just to say hi carretta was the best
