I know that's a lot to take in, I should get a life or write a book while getting a life LOL! Just bringing some fun facts to the people! LOL! @Bob Dobalina said any time Sir Tohham Hat makes an appearance and we can rail against the Ohio Lottery it's always a fun time!

It's is quite the read though I was pretty proud that I could loop in Miss Teen South Carolina 2007 (Always a winner) Sir Topham Hatt (Also always a winner), Wilson Express Ways and the entire State of South Carolina's school bus fleet (not so much a winner any more) into one thread!

You know an actual real life browns fan?! Wow, never met one of them. I didn't think they actually existed. ;-)

Hey now--some of us can't help it. We aren't even sure why we're fans exactly.

I was at Ft. Jackson in the Army 20 years ago, love that place !! You have the humidity. Oh, that is just sad, poor bus, but amazing how it just disintegrated. That pusher bus is like so many transit buses in cities. But ya, many old buses still on the road, I had this one bus that would only do about 10 mph up an average hill with about 50 kids on board, sand would come up from the engine into the main cab, leaked coolant like crazy, most of the old buses have coolant issues, stupid thing would still start though in -40. Like tanks, cold weather was ok, we get the -30-40 in the winter here, drives like a cadillac on ice too. Thanks for the video !!

Today I saw a late '80s Ford school bus painted up like the Partridge Family bus with blacked out windows.

There's probably some of those still in service somewhere you can get 15 years easy out of a school bus, there are many 1990's buses still in service everyday around here.

Another fun fact about SC school buses circa late 70's

Chevy/GMC 366 cube v8 with a 4 speed stick and we drove them as seniors after some class work and a very basic road test for the then 'chauffer's license'. Take the bus home every day at the end of the route. Absolute dogs climbing hills. When the internationals with autos came online in '80 the ones driving then thought they'd gone to heaven.

The rear windows pop out very easily when you miss your turn in dense fog and back up into a road sign lol

Luckily no cdl or dac back then so I'm golden.

That's funny as heck, some of those buses are probably still on the road and in the fleet being run everyday considering South Carolina has no actual retirement criteria for buses or none that they care to fallow at any rate. Which is why it's very important that you all play the lottery and win and do not collect your winnings that way they can replace the school buses.

I think most of the buses are the Thomas pushers, but I think they do have some late 1980s Internationals still running around, what I don't get is if the buses can still be run, so what if there late 1980s here's a thought, send them to the works and have them rebuilt i.e. have the motor taken out and rebuilt and dropped back in no EPA crap or anything on it to screw up the bus, go have all the breaks done replace the seats that are all beat up, take the bus to Maaco and have the thing repainted for $2Grand if you have to drop a new transmission in it and put it back on the road.

That would make too much sense. It is SC after all.

I got out in the mid 90's and never looked back but all my family is still there. Maybe I'll retire back home.

Another thing about those years is they were governed at 35. In retrospect good training for the 63mph truck at the training company lol before I moved up in the world to a private fleet. Made for a long route / day living out on lake secession and running the lake area to due west / Dixie high school and back every day.
