Company pays us just under $200 for 6-8 holidays per year. We make that whether we work or not. This year I ran around 600 miles at .51 on July 4th. It will be about a $500 day.
So double time pay on the 4th holiday?

I get $500 for Christmas whether I work or not. $200 for the other holidays. If I work those days I get whatever I make for the day, in addition to the holiday pay. But as someone else pointed out, the gooberment has their hand out, making it pointless to work

Ontario we get 10 paid stat holidays. I also get a month paid holiday.
My suggestion at last company fell on deaf ears. They pay 8 hours holiday pay. WTF do truck drivers ever work only 8 hours. Most OTR drivers work around 12 to 15 hours
