I downloaded the app, tried to log in but wouldn't give permission for them to access my location (I was at home in walmart no secret I just don't keep location on ) and a popup came on the screen and said in order to stay compliant with SNI policy of not using Mobile devices while driving your location must be turned on.

This new app will go live in October or November.

For all of SNI.

 

Also funny they know I use an Android device.

But I also use an IPAD too.

 

I'm not sure how it will work, what about those drivers who have someone ride with them and book loads. What about when I'm home riding with my wife to supper and I'm looking for freight?

If they truly want to make things better so drivers don't use the mobile app while driving or moving, then don't allow freight to be booked from the app period.

Or better yet how about if your truck is moving it blocks you out of Crossroads completely. This way even those who use the freight picker software won't have loads booked while the truck is in motion.

It's all about limiting their liability exposure in the event of a lawsuit, not safety or having a level field for all drivers.

 

I was pretty surprised when I came over from Roehl you could do that. Roehl isn't known for being way ahead of the curve technology wise, but you couldn't access their app while moving.

 

I should say while on the drive line. You could book loads off duty at home all day long while moving.

In the email I posted, it says Compass will replace both Crossroads mobile and full site.

Will only be able to access thru Compass mobile app.

 

What @rickybobby did was disingenuous at best. A lot of readers don't follow all threads like a soap opera addict and wouldn't know the facts behind the numbers.

I, for one, appreciate @Fuel Pump pointing out this pertinent fact.
