Swift policy is the driver is responsible for everything top bottom, side to side and front to back, doesn't matter if the line was illegally too low, the driver will take a preventable for hitting it.

...Then we can add that to the list of reasons why Swift sucks.

Call your company's safety department and say... "hypothetically, if one were to hit a low clearance... say... thousands of dollars worth of fiber optic cable lines in a restricted area... private residential neighborhood... yea yea... a neighborhood... and then just left the scene without reporting it... how much trouble would my friend who is definitely not me be in?!"

    Seriously though, don't say ####.

    Either way,its a Win,Win situation!
If no one tells on you,you keep a clean record.
If they find out,and put you in a witness relocation program.......(fire you)
You can find a better company to drive for,and move one to greener pastures,
and focus on fiber optic cables, and high end residential areas.
Always strive to be moving up while driving.Sure, you got "one" small cable, but
theres a whole world of stuff you could be tearing down while driving.
Think bigger!! Now get out there and tear some #### up, make us proud!!!

ps.take pictures,or we wont believe you, Love uncle Opus

You're good so long as it isn't a truck restricted road the lines supposed to be at least 13 ft 7 off the road. If it's lower and he hit it then that puts liability upon the local electric provider. I only know this because I've taken many down and I also was a lineman before being a trucker
