Low Loader Dolly in Queensland. HC or MC?

Hi all,

Long time reader, first time poster.

I have a QLD HC licence and my QLD employer says I need an MC licence to haul a low loader and dolly converter combination. I was under the impression that all I needed in Queensland is a HC licence? I know you need to have an MC in NSW for the same combination.

Could anyone possibly point me to the TMR website that states what licence is needed so I can sho my employer please?

I have looked through the TMR site as well as the NHVR site and can't find it ...

Yes, but apparently in QLD a dolly is correctly identified as an "assist" not a trailer. I read an older online article that stated in NSW you needed to hold MC, but every other state you only need HC, so NSW passed a law to recognise licences from other states and not issue infringement notices if you were pulled over in NSW hauling a dolly, but on an interstate licence. Just trying to find up-to-date information to pass onto my employer.
