Yes, old news. The folks involved have been sentenced. That headline is a tad misleading, the bribery charges were resolved and people convicted. This actually a thing seeking some reimbursement . It's not new charges, it's from 2007 or 8

This isn't "old news" but current legal action of the United States against Mercer. Even though the original players are doing time in Federal prison, Mercer's involvement in paying expenses for the players and the amount of the gross profit hurts their case. Greed is a soul killing motivator and the numbers make it somewhat obvious to me someone who could have done something held their nose and let it happen. In my opinion, they should seek a monetary settlement with the Feds and move on. Lawyers, even US Attorneys, like flies, are more often than not best dealt with by throwing bug spray/money at them to make them go away.
Despite this, after looking at a list of companies, I intend to lease on with Mercer based on what I have read on the TTR threads but especially the dozens of Mercer drivers I've talked to in truck stops and at the customers over the last few years. I'll have clear title to my truck the first week in October and will determine the final timing depending on the freight market then. In short, I still strongly believe Mercer is the best next step opportunity for me.

I don't think this will hurt Mercer rep. I don't think the military should do business with a Mercer.
