Bar is gone, everything except the little shack near the fuel pumps is gone............yeah, they charge $10 to park (which is why the OP was chapped in the first place), but, hey, it's a really convenient spot to either Cinci or Dayton.
Like another dude once said, if you can't afford 10 bucks, you're working for the wrong company.

Sure, there are places to eat that you can walk to. However, it is filthy and there are no showers. I keep food and drinks on the truck. Stony Ridge is an ideal place for the dirty, smelly, 400 lb driver who puts a "nice meal" above a hot shower and a fresh change of clothes. -
I grew up in Perrysburg and remember that place well....It used to be the place to get "company" about anytime you wanted it....lol!
Now just up the road is a Loves,Petro and a couple others and 2 truck washes... -

Well, the place is permanently closed now. I work out of the Home Depot DC across the street, so now I have to take my loads up to Franklin to scale. Huge pain in the butt, since 90 percent of my outbound loads are going south, and the Neanderthals Home Depot hires to load their trailers can't load a trailer properly. No kidding, I've pulled 36,000 pound loads out of there and couldn't axle them out legally because they like to put the heaviest crap right on the tail, but I digress. The truck stop is closed, big concrete Lego blocks are in the driveway so you can't get in. The owner was holding on to it until he got the right offer, and I guess someone ponyed up what he wanted. It'd be nice if one of the big chains bought the place, but somehow I doubt that's the case.
I live in Dayton, and park my truck at home, so other than the detour to scale, this doesn't affect me much, but I do feel for any driver that comes through here low on hours. Sure, the place was a dump, but we all know that when it's two am, and a shipper or receiver tells you it's time to get the hell off his property, any place that offers 70 feet of space to pull your brakes is pretty much heaven sent at that point. The Pilot is a joke, the parking lot is so tight, if you stay there all night, odds are one of your fenders is going to be laying on the ground when you wake up to do your pre-trip.Knucklehead, x1Heavy and Kyle G. Thank this. -
Yep, that Pilot is way too tight on the parking. They should change the layout to angled parking. -
There was a time once upon a time in my life time long ago in the 80's that truckstop was a living and breathing insitution offering good food and plenty of women servers willing to set and chat a while above and beyond the food service which was pretty good for it's day.
I know I get a little older each day with various body systems beginning to fail in a variety of subtle ways. But I really hate to see a rotting shell of what it was once when it comes to truckstops. They need to raze it. Remove the top three feet of soil and put the land up for sale. -
x1Heavy Thanks this.

I gotta wonder if Loves bought it????
