A lot of people have said Trucking in PA, VA and lower states are a nightmare due low bridges, narrow roads and such.

Everytime I have been to PA, it was easy and simple. So what are some areas and highways that are not so trucking friendly?

I have never drove to VA, MD and the Carolinas.

You definitely need to scratch those off your to-do list.

3 months in the seat I did 50 from Winchester to Parkersburg with 45k in the box because it was the company 'route suggestion'. Even with the GPS screaming don't go there. I was new and surely the company couldn't be wrong, could it?

Talk about an education and a trial by fire lol even all these years later that ranks as one of the most memorable and nerve wracking trips I've ever done.....other than missing a truck route and ending up in a residential area in philly not long after that and having to figure out how to get rerouted on the fly and in traffic. Another educational experience with under a year in at the time.

As to the OP's question those states aren't so bad there are just sections to avoid. I've been on some tight roads in all of them but experience and wisdom earned with time has made trip planning those areas much easier.

250 in Va from 81 into WV should be avoided as well.

I'd much rather run Pa and points south than Pa and points north.

I made that mistake... once. Going from Maryland to Ohio and I decided to run that because I didn't want to pay the tolls (before EZpass). What an awesome time that was! NOT! At night, rain and fog... it was awesome!!! My saving grace was a good 'ol boy behind me in a pickup that had a CB talking me through the turns and letting me know what was coming next.
Next time I had that run I paid the tolls with a smile on my face.
