Ohhhh had a coaching trip today, pretty mediocre. Not good enough to be employee of the year (I was already that once anyhow so it wasn't going to happen 2 years in a row.), but not bad enough to be fired either.

Management had to get there coaching trips in because, the quarter is going to be ending soon and they haven't done many in a long while and there bonus is all dependent on it.

For the most part and this is a general comment it does not pertain to my employer or your employer or anyone in specifically, but employee evaluations are kind of a waste, but I get it "they" have to give lower management something to do.

Anyhow my evaluation was nothing special and doesn't really change things in anyway, I'm just going to keep doing what I'm doing because after all they have to find something wrong, if they don't then there not doing there job so it's all pretty much just whoweee.

Coaching trip sounds like a load of fun. I don't think I'd be in for any of that, unless the coach was very good looking and female. Otherwise I'd expect the extra set of hands to do something other than lean against something and watch me. Also, it would have to be someone who'd actually done the job before... people who've never done a job telling me how to do said job rub me the wrong way.

I'd take it and throw it on the truck if I have BOL in hand and there's no hazmat issues.

had a useless night. go here, wait, go there, wait. oh, go back up there, they'll have something for you.

    IN AN HOUR
I was 30 seconds away from bobtailing back and going home when they finally decided to close a trailer.

After wasting 2 hours (in 7) doing nothing, not getting paid, was heading for the barn and going home. If i'm not making any money, there's no point in me being here. I'm not sitting around doing jack i can do that at home.

So, get to the barn, break the set, unhooking the lead and the phone rings "hey, why don't you take those trailers and go back to this terminal, I have 2 more trailers that need to come to the hub"

    no

    "umm, what? no?"

    No

and i unhooked and went home 2+ hours early.

Should have thought of that before you wasted hours of my time. and Esp since i called from my last stop to dispatch back to the barn, you could have changed it then and i might have done it. but now? heck no

Maybe they want to recruit YOU to be a coach. Ever think of that? And yes, I mean that seriously.

The two guys who do that job at my yard have only been in that job a year or so, they were both drivers when I started. The one guy has only been with the company maybe 3-4 years the other guy about 14 years, but he's only in his late 30's. The guy in his late 30's was recruited the other guy applied, a lot of them it's a way to get out of the truck for a little while and get a break from day to day route running.

I mean scores go up and down it's just how it goes. My "bonus" though will be in the crapper for this quarter because that's effected by Xata, but that's how it goes I guess.

    G13Tomcat Thanks this.
