I was an O/O for the last 20yrs you want to talk about change, when speed limiters and eld's take effect what will it even mean to be an O/O? Also read up on Trumps plan for the interstates( tolls, privatization), I feel I made the best choice to come here when I did and the industry is changing more than you guys want to acknowledge.SpiritLink and drozzer69 Thank this. -
I'm not saying all of them. But some of the walmart crew walks with there nose in the air. Either in person or on TTR. And especially on Fart Bubbles from what many drivers have told me in person.
Truth is, the boots vs suits culture that has came about after ppl were hired into management from outside mega carriers. Has changed some things. But for the most part. For the lies that were told in the past about some things changing for good. It will quickly be found out that it's going the other way around.
The economy isn't doing great. Everyone knows that. And the mega-low-mart is aligning themselves in a different manner. All that buying of nice boats and big 4x4 trucks that some drivers have done. I suggest you get them paid off soon! -

I also got the feeling from that last message that the cameras in both directions are coming.
I tend to think: when that driver got in that crash, whether or not he was at fault (and I don't buy the "exoneration" thing one bit, he was doing 5 over in rainy conditions) they got exactly what they wanted.
A crash on camera.
They probably still watch the video over and over again with popcorn.
My questions are:
How does the expense of these cameras offset the goal of saving 100+ million dollars?
The answer was: doesn't matter, it if prevents a lawsuit.
Eye roll...
And I've heard they anticipate at least 20% of the fleet gone in short order.
Guys near retirement, and guys like me with just under a year in, don't have a lot of reason to stick around. I was making good money in other areas before I came here and there's a good possibility I could return to them.
So with 20% of the driver pool gone, how does hiring that much more dedicated offset the goal of saving 100+ million dollars?
I also tend to think that idea went out the window already.
Also, anyone thinking they're safe running a camera and "just do what you're supposed to, and you'll be fine"...
Heh. They'll come for you too. Probably sooner than you think.
Sad. When I came about last October there was scant mention of these. Then, nothing for months and recently it's reared its ugly head again.
I was planning on retiring from here. I've already got 21 years in the industry and this was an awesome last stop.born&raisedintheusa, kwk100e, georgear1084 and 1 other person Thank this. -
