I have been an extra professional driver for over 7 years. I have worked for 7 companies in that time... With the longest one being 3 years and my current on for only 4 months. I am buying a Cascadia with a rebuilt engine, new transmission, new onboard computer, new turbo, new front suspension.

I am paying under 500 a week every week for 3 years. at end of 3 years I can buy outright for 5k or continue to make payments until paid off.

I must remain with company for that time. interest is figured into the payments thus what I pay is all I have to pay, it deducts.

I want to be an owner operator and I realize that being leased on with a company that pays your fuel , handles paper work etc is just a fraction of the over all picture but its a great start. And to think just 7 years ago I was finishing trucking school with no idea that I had to bring my own bed sheets for the truck I would be driving with my first company...

Oh, I can walk away from lease at any time. I am expected to take care of maintenance and if any major engine failure happened that the 1 year engine warranty does not cover , they will loan me the money to repair. No its not a family member doing this, its an old timer 30 year veteran driver who has helped many drivers get into being owner operators and cares about the industry. I am the last person he is doing this for....

With the new stuff you listed I gotta wonder if it was abused or just not maintained

That's nice ... what's your anticipated revenue stream? Other fixed costs? Estimated ongoing maintenance costs?

    26,000 per year, 78,000 plus 5k is 83,000.

    Ouch!

If it works for you and that's the only way...but not in the good deal range.
