    Here is what I did.

I had to change registration info on the company authority, I bought a phone and number I pay $10 a month, it hasnt had the VM setup on it and it is turned off.

it is only used for the contact info on the authority, we have to have a number but no law requires it to be answered so all corespondence is by mail or my boc agent.

I hate getting calls on my personal or business phone for soliciting, I have told brokers who call me on my personal phone that they are on no haul lists for that move, and when I give a it the number by my card, it says right on the card, do not give out the number but have.

There is no way for them to do that.

Even if they had a "Do Not Solicit" checkbox included with submitting for authority your authority is a public record and they have no way of controlling how anyone accessing that information chooses to use it.

I suppose you could place your number on the "Do Not Call" list but in my experience it seems that the government has completely gave up on any enforcement of that list so it is pretty much a waste of time. I'm on the list but get calls all the time and have found reporting them dose noting even when I report the same number or organization multiple times.

I get 10-20 spam calls a day. Get a better call blocking app. On my Android phone I use "Should I Answer?" Blocks about 50% at first, then gets better as you add them. After several months, maybe one or two get through a week. It picks up the line and drops the call, so they can't leave voice mail. There are other similar apps, also for iPhone if that's what you have.

When I got my authority I had read about this issue and used a burner phone for my registration. After a couple months updated my info with an office phone that sends me a transcribed email so I know if it is something i need to respond to.

I had been warned against all that. So I gave my secondary phone number to my DOT profile (I have two) and let it be there for a few weeks, after the first and the worst wave of solicitation passed by, I switched it back. I still get sporadic calls but I am rude and mean to them and they never call back.
