Yeah, I've showed them these before, but it's not just one guy in dispatch. We have three dispatchers, and all three of them do it. It's one of these mom and pops joints, even the owner agrees with the dispatchers. They say as long as you don't pass a scale, what does it matter.

I guess your only option is load short. Apparently mom and pop never heard of portable scales.

Hey everyone, it's been a while, hope all is well with you guys. Something finally worth talking about, Evans shutting down shop without notice. A tesoro T.O. said it was their lack of drivers, Evans' website says "banking issues" lol. Either way, we have been covering some of their San diego and I.E. loads, pulling them out of vinvale/wilmington because nobody is carded at colton or san diego. Hopefully that slack can get picked up because these 300 mile round trip loads are boring as hell.

@moloko regarding your split load issue, I always plan my route and load my truck in such a way that the trailer is empty first. I have never driven an empty truck and a fully/partially loaded trailer, and don't plan on it.

I just pump my trailer into my truck should the need arise.

Hey! A little late, but your point is well taken. The text of the STAA pertinent to many states prohibit a situation where the rear trailer is more than 20% heavier than the front trailer or front trailer/power unit combination.

Any word on what happened besides rumors... I figure they just couldn't pay their bills and the bank decided to call in their debt. I know they have been having issues for a number of years because we've been getting a lot of their contracts.

In other news... Tesoro bought western refining and they are changing their name to andeavor. Also tesoro has been on a hiring spree for their private fleet. They have posters and signs at all their terminals and I'm seeing a lot of trainees with tesoro drivers. Probably in an effort to get overtime under control. I wish my company would do that I would love to work 4/10 :D that's a 50% increase in weekend for a 20% decrease in pay, good trade off!

Oh yea, are you still pulling cryo, how is that going?

One of our drivers is sick of LA and is moving to portland to drive for Superior. I hope that's not the company who insisted you pull that load.

No word yet but I imagine they couldnt pay the bills, especially if they couldn't even pay the drivers. Yeah I know tesoro has been hiring like crazy but hopefully they keep quality over quantity.

Yup still in cryo and it would be hard to go back to fuel i tell you what. They got all the work you can handle it's not back breaking at all. Only down side is missing the 3days off, but that we too many for me every week anyways.
