I've benn looking to do this after college so can anyone answer these questions:

Does Fed Ex Custom Critical have O/O's that you can sign on with?
How big is the FSC compared to being an o/o for a company like Landstar?
Who is the best company to go with?
Is this an o/o thing or is their companies that hire company drivers?

Most expedite companies are 100% O/O and subcontractors- meaning you can be employed by an O/O to drive his/her truck, but you will most likely be a 1099 employee. That means no benefits, and no taxes withheld from your pay, so you will have to do that and pay it yourself.

FSC is a little more dicey, but if I had to bet, I would guess it would be almost similar between the Big Companies- remember, they don't want to lose good teams or solos to the competition over FSC. Maybe some Landstar BCOs and some FedEx CC O/Os can shed more light on the topic...

FedEx Custom Critical and Panther both have fleet owners that hire drivers as wallbanger said -self employed contractors . The driver gets 60% of the gross and buys the fuel . Most fleet owners give the driver 100% of the FSC but the FSC in expediting is controversial . They don't use a set formula . Preferred customers are given discounted FSC's .
Panther's idea of a 50% advance is half paid when they receive a copy of the bills . You get the balance when the customer pays them .

I posted the truckpaper link to this truck without thinking, so I thought I should put a pic of the truck here, because if I was going to run a boxtruck, this would be it!
