    I didn't post this, that was wilhusker13.

Was just tryin to help as it seemed you were concentrating your efforts on RR crossings when the poster (wilhusker13) never even mentioned them.

I understand. I Googled Low Overpasses and I only found the RR crossings. I concentrate on all areas since it might have been overlooked.

I "ran" the route on Google maps and found nothing on street view.

    Thanks,
    Mark

    Mark Kling-Thanks for your help.

I should be ok for a while.

Did you tell me I can charge/power the tablet on the device proper and not on the mounting device?

Is it supposed to charge the battery if you power right into the tablet & bypass the mounting connection?

Many of the new truck "haul away" drivers who do what I do use RM GPS's. They have to be removed for travel/transport to the next job. Do you have any ideas for what we can do to prevent wear and tear to connections as we repeatedly install and remove the devices?

I love the RM GPS for it's accuracy, ease of use and wealth of POI info. If we can get this power connection issue resolved I'd call it the perfect CV GPS.

    Again, thanks for your help.

Glanced through the last 10 pages or so and didn't see anything regarding my issue.

I have a tnd-740 and we really like the device, but the magnet mount just isn't strong enough. It constantly gets knocked off the mount, when my wife is driving she can't reach across the dash to pick it up and put it back on. I can if I'm driving but I'm scared it's going get damaged.

We drive a 2017 Cascadia so it's not like the suspension is beat to hell or anything. Surely others are having this issue, anyone have a good solution? My wife loves being able to remove it as it's hard for her to type in stuff without doing so (she's short), so it would be great if we could retain that functionality.

Driving across i40 in Arizona you might as well put it in the passenger seat it's going to get knocked off so much. But it happens all across the country, daily issue.

Yes you can plug it directly into the Tablet. The Slice is a magnetic base and also boosts the GPS signal to the Tablet.

Yours is a unique job and I will have to think how best your issue can be resolved.

    Thanks,
    Mark

Take a pic of how you have it mounted so I get a better idea.

    Thanks,
    Mark

I have the same issue but I found if you mount it so the bottom of the device is against something (such as the dashboard), it'll rarely fall off the mount.

    >>>> I drive over New england - GWB, Cross Bronx, etc, and mine has never fallen off. are you sure you have it mounted right?[ I do agree, mount it so the bottom is against something and its not bouncing around.
Mine rest on the dash so it doesn't bounce up and down. that window mount is like a spring board.

    Mark Kling Thanks this.
