    That is not entirely accurate about Maverick. While it is true they don't want you to call to change appointment times, it is okay to call for directions or any other reason. They just want appointment reschedules to be handled by their customer service reps.

    That wasn't the case when I worked there 4 years ago. We were told to call our fleet manager and they would get answers to our questions. We were told to never call the customer in very plain English. Maybe that has changed in the 4 years since I have left.

    Disclaimer - never worked for Maverick. I can understand their thought process if you figure rules are made for the lowest common denominator. I'm guessing they don't want drivers running their business and want to be kept in the loop if a load is late/early. After having just left a "dark terminal", meaning no management on-site, I can fully appreciate why they do it. If you want to see a person's true colors when it comes to work, take away supervision and it becomes clear as day.
