Basically its just hard right, hard left until straight then back up and hard left and hard right?
-
-
Ok i always forget that second hard left. I do hard right, hard left until straight then hard right again. Off set is not hard for me pull forward then turn the wheel hard left to swing the trailer to the right and then hard left to straighten it up and then straight line back.
-
Parallel is the biggest challenge. Not very much room for error and it puts all your backing theories to the test. Idk what state you're testing in but they only allowed us one pull-up and 2 goals.
-
See thats our issue then our class is split into two groups. My group has done straight line backing, i did offset once with the other group when the rest of my group was late. My group went from straight line backing straight to parallel parking. My group went from the easiest backing maneuver to one of the hardest

Here's how I do it.....it's a simple formula to remember and does work when your trailer tandems are basically in the middle of the slide.
Drivers side:
Bumper, tag, tag, door.......1, 2, 1, all the way.....RLLR, (right, left, left, right )
3-5 feet off the cones....
Bumper of the trailer even with the front cone, 1 turn of the wheel to the right.
Tag axle on the trailer even with the front cone, 2 turns of the wheel to the left. (When you get "under the trailer" it's a straight line back to get the trailer in the box) Now you can forget about the trailer.....it's in.
Tag axle on the drives even with the front cone, 1 turn of the wheel to the left.
Door is even with the front cone, turn the wheel all the way to the right.
Blind side parallel....LRRL.
Try it. -
Basically its hard right to get the trailer left, should take a few seconds no more than 4 or 5. Then hard left to straighten the trailer and tractor up then straight line back until rear wheels cross the first cone boundary then hard left until most of the trailer is in the box then hard right.
So it's hard right for a few seconds hard left to straighten up then straight line back another hard left then another right -
You have the theory down... Left right right left. You just need to work on timing and position which we have all have you different ways to do it. Now it's just putting it to work and figure out what works best for you

That's for blind side.....
