Been following this thread a long time. Quick question, when hauling overweight and legal size, do you fly your oversize banners? Thinking it would help a the weight station.

Some states will require it, others will not and you may be cited if you're not to have them and you do.
I'm never legal size anymore so I don't remember where, but I recall one state was NO signs, mandatory flags.
In Iowa you don't need flashing lights for dimension. Flashing lights in Iowa indicates overweight, which means you must centerline bridges. They don't fine for legal weight oversize only, but they could.
Alberta and Saskatchewan are NO flashing lights until you exceed 3.5m(11'4") wide or 31m(101') long, and BOTH used to cite for it and probably will again shortly from what I'm being told...
Once again, READ YOUR PERMIT, it will tell you.Logan76, PeteyFixAll, Hegemeister and 2 others Thank this. -

This is going to sound like a stupid question but you can't just pull over to the shoulder when you enter a new state to put flags on the truck or to turn lights on or off so how much of a grace period or distance do most states give you to pull over and change the warning signs/lights on a truck to meet that states laws?
