4 1/2 hour crap show. Crane that was supposed load this broke down yesterday. 2 small forklifts wouldn't pick the stuff. Big forklift wouldn't start. Finally got big forklift started after mechanic shows up

 

same load, with and without trying...nice light load.

 

Why would that need tarping?

 

You've got me.... it's what the customer wanted.

 

People have far to much money..... we have this pipe, called ABS pipe. You might recognize it, black plastic, used for plumbing. Well when exposed to the elements it tends to warp, or "banana" so everyone wants it stored inside. But the hitch is, where its made, its stacked outside, and its shipped untarped, and it gets stuck outside for a few days while space is made indoors.... and no matter how many times I tell them, it wont do any good to store it inside, as its already sun abused, they still insist.....

 

As long as their money is finding it's way into my pocket, in happy as a lark.

I'm not a huge fan of tarping but it's what they ask for so we do it.

 

That's almost as good as year-round tarp on steel that's stored outside at the shipper for months, allowed to rust, shipped in the summer, then unloaded and stored outside while it's raining.

 

That's for sure. I can't count the loads I've picked up out of a mudhole, then delivered to go right back in a mudhole. "Must Tarp"

 

No tarp gravy on a Saturday...I'll take it.
