89 mph?? Phew! No, my truck doesn't go that fast unless I'm rolling downhill. I got one of the Internationals, governed at 76 according to the speedometer but actually 74 according to my phone's gps app. My trainer's KW will go a little faster.

The guy who hired me has been with them 13 years and started off as a solo driver with them, so the solo driving has been around at least that long. They do have teams that haul furniture out to customers all over the country--those guys make crazy money (over 100k from the numbers I've been given) but I don't have to unload my own freight like they do.

Yeah, could be a little better but we get good miles here and I love the environment. Everyone in dispatch, operations, and safety used to drive here and some of them still do on occasion. My weeks are planned out in advance, so before I leave I already know what my return trip to Colorado is--if I hustle I can get it back early and start my next week a day earlier. We also get around $80 a week in stop pay, which adds up, plus a safety bonus every year if we don't get any new tickets or accidents. My trainer ran over 160k miles his second year here and made almost $70k, so it's possible to make some good money. I thought about doing linehaul instead so I could make really good money, but I thought I'd go insane running the same route every single night.

It's just super chill here. I pick up my packet when I leave and return it when I'm back. They want us to fuel at the stores in CO as much as possible, but besides that they don't tell me where or when to fuel. I call in once a week to let them know when I'll be back to CO so they know what day to send me out again. If I have a brokered load heading out of CO I have to call in to the broker once a day, but that's it. We have nice trucks too, with APUs and built-in fridges, no idle heat and AC, and of course for now they're fast (although I suspect that won't be the case forever).

Lots of other opportunities if I decide tp get off the road too.

Sounds like a good place .

Yeah, they probably started governing the trucks as their transportation department grew ..

Aztruckerr, I doubt it, but you could always fill out an application and see. My trainer has more 10 more years experience than you with a clean record and he started out the same as me two years ago. But he loves it here, says it's the best trucking job he ever had.

I'm not him, but kinda knowing his background, the weekend can be whenever your 70 runs out...can be any 2 days. Don't quote me; just what I've gathered from here and elsewhere!
Best of luck to ya, however!

Geez, I put down the phone for one hour... Haha

Tom is correct, my 34 is any day of the week, although you typically end up having your day off on the same day each week. Right now I'm on a Friday off until something throws that off, like a delay in a load or a breakdown.
