You nailed it man. Trying to do math after driving 10 hours is impossible. I'm running paper while I'm waiting on my new tablet to arrive and it's a royal pain. Can't wait to go back to e logs just for the simplicity they afford me when I'm stupid tired.

    Brickwall and nightgunner Thank this.

Planning on buying my truck in Spring. Just in time for the upswing in flatbed freight.

I have a flatbed right now and am looking at a van as well. Always be ready to take care of the customer.

2 months into it and I'm actually happier now than when I started. That's for a small company there has been some Growing Pains but we work through it.

    Brickwall and Lonesome Thank this.

They are. No deductions and getting 85% of the gross combined with picking my own freight. It just doesn't get better just this side of having my own authority. After dealing with megas for almost 15 years, there is no way I could go back to that kind of Lifestyle.

It's more than that. I am actually appreciated and treated with respect, not a number. If more people actually wanted to succeed and not nust merely get by, the megas would fold. Too often people are just sheep and follow the old $1.15/mi and lease purchase lies thinking they are actually doing well.

I've done both. There are pros and cons on either side. We are rarely recognized as the professionals we are. The tremendous responsibility we shoulder and the immeasurable value we bring to this country are undervalued across the board.
Again I rejoice with you over the happy circumstance you have carved out for yourself. Keep on truckin' my friend.
