Your screen name is ironic to my post telling op he's not going to find banker hours lol.Anyway it sounds like the op wants his cake and eat it too he's not going to find exactly what he's looking for.Maybe somewhat close but I highly doubt what exactly he wants.

    Banker Thanks this.

It was also flexable at times. This industry is always changing.Sometimes you'll have to work later or start earlier to accomidate the customers demands.

i work for a trucking company, that has a dedicated account for a customer, and we only work for that customer, no one else.

a private fleet is like (say) whirlpool washers and driers, that have thier own trucks/drivers.

The only driving job I can think of would be with a City, doing trash. Even that, is with a City that is not getting larger.

I agree with the experiences shared. Most jobs period, they push you for as much as possible. Ton's of overtime. The better you are at your job. The more they push for more out of you.

I recall seeing some old cement mixer job posts at my CDL school that seemed to advertise the sort of schedule I have in mind. Is that common for mixer jobs?

    Here's mine

    -school bus driver
    -local bus driver
    -local tow driver
-local co. driver (more difficult to find)
    -local Tanker Driver
    -local bus tansport driver
    -local cement truck driver
    -etc.

40 hr work week is tough to fill, but if you look hard, you'll find one (if you are in a large town).

I wouldn't accept any trucking job paying less than $20. Years ago i had a local job. $22 per hour. Hours weren't predictable. One week i was putting 96 hours, some other week hardly putting 40hours. They paid overtime, 401k, health insurance.

Believe me I worked some bad hours for many years to get to this point. I was given the handle by a co-worker and I didn't get the "Bankers hours" for atleast 10 years after I was given the handle.
