New Lease Program - Dedicated Account w/No Credit Check, No Money...

Hello fellow truckers! My name is Mike and I am looking to get into a lease purchase program with US Xpress. I have worked for them before on the company side and it wasn't bad because it was local but they lied to me about multiple things, which was a little disheartening, but mainly what I didn't like was the true-up instead of the stated Guarantee and also they said two days off a week but really had you work 6 with one off and if you didn't they wouldn't give you the true-up. By the way, the web address above is the ad that they are currently running for the program.

I have read through other posts and would just like some fresh information. Can anyone tell me if they have had success with this program or any like it? Also, is this even a good idea now-a-days?

One other question I have is, I have a good friend of mine (I am the Godfather to his two boys) that is possibly looking to get into truck driving. He has no experience and no cdl currently. We are thinking of possibly teaming in the future, with US Xpress's program, are they paying insurance? Can I help him get his cdl and be his trainer? Any info is greatly appreciated!

Lease purchase is what it is. Why do you say that?

There are lots of threads on this forum that repeat this message.

Let me ask you a question. Why would you want to lease from a company that has lied to you in the past? By leasing from them, you are making a truck payment for them on a truck that you may never own. I can assume that they will be dispatching you. It's just not a good situation.

I understand what your saying, I promise Im only a little hard headed lol. I am familiar with the trucking industry to a certain extent and have a friend that does very well as a manager for a trucking company that consists of only owner operators that I would eventually like to haul for. I need a truck first. I feel like if I save money and pay more than they ask for the truck, if I stay serious about it, I feel maybe I can eventually own the truck. Thanks for your input though!

Why not just buy your own truck? It doesn't have to be new. It just needs to be reliable.

Not a possibility at the moment. Otherwise I definitely would. Credits shot. I've made some bad decisions the past few years but within the last year I've straightened up.

I'd go to Covenant as a company driver and train your buddy , run team for about a year

Stay away from leasing from the same company that provides the truck and has it's own company drivers . Common sense here !!
