Honestly, if you have access to the entire load board, then you have all the tools you need. You just gotta use it differently. Do stuff like search for all loads nationwide paying at least $5 (or $3 or $2.50 or $2) per mile, and look for clusters of them. If you see a bunch going from one cluster to another area, check the outbound freight in that other area and see if you can make something work.

And there's literally hundreds of posts on this forum from people doing well at Schneider, explaining exactly how they do it. You can learn a LOT from them just by using the search function. That information is literally worth more than it's weight in gold. It was worth that much to me and I never pulled orange. At least not yet, anyway.

Bottom line, even if you don't read so fast, you probably still read faster than most people type. So don't wait for someone else. The information is already all typed up, just waiting for you to go get it.

    Load board is temporarily down
They want to launch it along with the new app. The app is the holdup. Heartland knows alot o/o will bounce if loadboard is dropped. You're right about the contract and the amount of time to look it over. But you can bounce " at will " now because of no loadboard.

I don't trust a fleet that has so many co trucks .
I would choose a fleet of only or predominately o/o .

They called me a few days after I quit and asked me if there was anything they could do to bring me back. I told them to bring back the Interstate program with the 48 state percentage pay. They said thanks anyway, have a nice life. But it sounded like they lost a ton of o/o over their meddling, which is funny cuz I heard the freedom board was the only part of Interstate that was profitable.

    Yea some have bounced.
Some are waiting to see the loadboard.
    I believe there's around 160 o/o here.
I myself will wait and see and give it a month. I believe you that the division was profitable. The o/o paid for everything except the trailer. Good luck.

Landstar you have to find the right lane and brokers. Just know that landstar agents do not post all their loads or they post other brokers loads that cheapens the rate. Alot of landstar brokers do not negotiate, unless they are desperate to move the load. Some landstar brokers have they're own trucks. Just so you know. They do have a good fuel discount program and tires. Mercer doesn' t allow you the freedom of booking multiple loads like landstar. You can put in request to cover a load, but you have to wait until other o/o in the market your in decline if they are available before you. Just saying.

That's mostly true , but the loads that don't go on landstars board are saved for landstar drivers they know won't screw them up.
Those are usually the best loads , if they post them on the board their phones would melt down all day .
At least that's the way it was , they weren't allowed to post on other boards unless the loads went on landstars board also .
And landstar agents could only take their set % of linehaul from landstar drivers .
Now some will post a load get a call from a landstar driver , then make you wait while they look for an outside carrier they can skim more money from , then call back MAYBE and tell you the load is covered
But things are changing all the time ,LS isn't what it used to be
