So where else are the trucks suppose to park to deliver the cars? Maybe these guys would like their fancy new cars driven in from the nearest truck stop, which is how far away?

How many points for that cyclist?

I have hauled cars,...It seems that some dealerships were not planned for truck traffic,....

I've never hauled cars, but I use to deliver auto parts for a warehouse (cargo van). Most of the dealerships I had to deliver to were almost a nightmare for the van I drove. I would not have wanted to even think about getting anything bigger in there! I have yet to see a dealership set up to allow a big rig to even think about getting in there.

Hell, I'm surprised they still ALLOW trucks anywhere inside of Ventura County, except for the freeway. Those folks just plain hate trucks.

    From the article:
And of course this would not have happened if the truck hadn't been there? Horse hockey. Folks who ride bicycles on the roadways are not smart.

There. I've said it, and I will stand by it.

Yes, they do have the "legal right" to use the roadway. Yes, they do save money, and allegedly, they help the environment.

But all of the "legal right" or even so called "moral right" in the world is not going to save your a55, if you are on a bicycle and tangle with a car or truck. I've seen way too many (so called) "adults" riding bicycles that do things no kid on a bike would do.

When kids do stupid things on bikes, it is usually because they are thinking of something else, and figure they are invincible anyhow.

But these adults on their bikes, just dare you to hit them. They blow stop signs, ride against traffic, ride three or four abreast on blind curves on two lane highways. They are arrogant, ignorant, and just asking to be hit. They ride down the traffic lane even though there is plenty of room on the shoulder. I've even seen them ride on a two lane mountain roadway, when there is a designated bicycle path that was built next to the roadway just for them. I still can't figure that one out!

And God help you, if you do hit one of these azzholes.

OK, I'll kick the old soap box back under the desk again.

OBTW, did I mention - I HATE to see bicylists on the highways???:biggrin_2553:

I agree with you so much on that Big Don! We have a lot of those around this town too, and boy the brain capacity just isn't there with so many of them. Between the people on bicycles and the pedestrians near the UW campus it's a challenge to NOT hit someone. The rules of the road don't seem to apply to a lot of them around here either.

When I see a bicyclist that can actually follow the rules of the road, I'm surprised.

They hate the trucks, but they love to have the stuff in the back brought close to them. Too many communities like this. To quote Larry the Cable Guy, "Ungrateful, is what they are!"
