I had Fitzgeralds build me a 389 roughly 2 years ago. If I needed another one I would buy from them again. I have heard people bad mouth their products, but I haven't had issues with mine. I toured their plant before I ordered and was impressed with what I saw. Many car carriers get
    5 mpg and I have averaged 5.7-6.1

I have 2 2015 Fitzgerald gliders, one with 310000 miles the other with 150000 miles, they were bought a year apart. Both have the Fitzgerald built motors. The Columbia with 310k. Has had an AC compressor, injector, water pump and cam. All was under warranty except the cam. Cost me $1200 to replace it.
The Pete 389 has had a speed sensor replaced. We pull flatbed and about 70-80% wide loads, always heavy or over 70k. They are both averaging right around 6.8 -7.2 mpg. Both are now set at 72 mph.
    I would buy another.

I got a question too. What company is a good source to a reman N14 Cummins?
I know that Harrison Truck Center is the name to look for if you want a Detroit, and Thompson if you want a CAT but I don't know who remans the Cummins. Anyone?

Yeah, but like you said previously there are people that didn't have a good experience with them. I just would like to know if there were others suppliers for N14's besides Fitzgerald.

With 3,000+ trucks a year there are going to be problems. I have never bought a new vehicle, boat, house or nearly any other large ticket item that didn't have some sort of kink to work out.
The old saying goes if it fly's, floats, f@@ks or drives, it is going to have problems!
I wouldn't hesitate to buy a Cummins from Fitzgerald. The warranty is honored at the engine manufacturer and I would much rather go to Detroit with my engine than Peterbilt if I had a Paccar engine.

I know of one guy that bought two Fitzgerald trucks and another that bought one. The guy that bought 2, one of them threw a rod on the Detroit. Something about a bad batch of rod bolts they run into, the other truck had the same engine and they replaced the rod bolts on it because it had the same batch of bad bolts. That's the only major problem I know of personally.

Thompson Cat has started building gliders. I know of one guy that has gotten 5 of them. I've heard great reviews about them, but like anything associated with Cat, I'm sure they are some of the highest priced trucks.

If you go to Thompsons web site and read into it they are building their gliders with Fitzgerald. Fitz is doing the truck and Thompson is doing the motors. So your getting the same truck wether you go through Thompson or Fitz. You can go through Cat for financing if you buy through Thompson. You get the 400k warranty on the motor through Cat, the rolling glider has the same warranty that a new truck has through The manufacturer and the tranny comes with a 3 year unlimited miles through Eaton.
My next one will have the Cat even though the problems with the other 2 with Fitz built Detroits have had minimal problems. This will be for me to drive also they are offering the 6nz c-15 or the 3406 e. Neither one would be a bad choice.
