Does anyone use the remolded tires instead of recaps. We had a salesman by us lately that is trying to get us to try a set

That is custom mold. I’ve had a few guys run them and have better luck than caps. Can’t even tell by looking they are a cap

Been wanting to learn to change mine. But don't have a source of air for an impact

How big of a risk is tapping your tanks?

It's not hard to run an air line off of your tanks. The problem is there is not enough volume to run a big gun. You can get a torque multiplier and do them by hand but you will be wore slick before you even start to change the tire.

Thanks, I didn't hear the right name before, just had the guys in the shop telling me about them. Interested to see how they hold up as drives. We normally don't go or 5 miles before stopping or turning and run about 108,000.

I bought a compressor and had plans to get the necessary equipment, but our shop mounts them for us when we buy them thru the shop. I also get a deep discount on virgins. That may change down the road but for now it works for me. I had to buy 4 drives rite out the gate and am about to pull over to the shop and get two steers on today.

You have no control over the quality of work or the materials used for the work. Even properly maintained and inflated can blow on a hot day. Or a cold day.

    Agree.
    New tires fail also.
The only drive recap I had a problem with, about 15 years ago, warranty covered.

I have no problem running my 1" impact off my truck using a standard 3/8" air hose. Struggles a little when I have to go behind a shop but that's rare now that I have the tools.
