Yep, the automated manual is what JCT is ordering on the new Cascadias. I have no experience in one; so, I couldn't say how they do in the winter.

I had to drive on that ice sheet between Limon to North Platte last winter in my automated. It wasn't too bad. Just use your normal winter driving precautions.

Just talked to Schnieder, they aren't currently hiring drivers from my area.

JCT doesn't look terrible. I'm going into it knowing I'm not going to get rich, but should make enough to pay the bills and get some o/o expierence. We run a small brick and mortar business now so I feel like we've got a leg up on the business management/paperwork side of things. Not much money is my only reservation about the company. I see posts about drivers only making $30,000 a year for JCT, that's not enough.

Will anybody tell me their real number for annual take home annually after all deductions and expenses?

It sounds like annual take home is around 40-50k. Now I don’t think that included money taken out for taxes

It’s difficult to place an exact figure on what each driver’s income can be, as each driver’s situation is different. Some drivers work harder than others, while some work harder than others to maximize their net income. And there are others who have no business driving a shopping cart through a Walmart parking lot, let alone be tasked to run a productive operation as a lease operator.

In the last few years that I’ve worked for JCT throughout the entire year, I’ve averaged around 40k a year NET. That’s after taxes and truck payments. My average is probably on the low side, as I’m lazy and take a lot of time off (usually out 3 weeks, home a week). For those JCT drivers that work longer and harder than I do, they’ll tell you I’m sure that they NET a little more. So again, there is a wide range of what your income can be at JCT. It just boils down to how much you work, but more importantly how smart you work.

I'm in the pnw area. I give them at least a week notice and am able to get home close to the requested date.

They will keep you moving as long as you want to stay out. Very little down time in the four years I've been here.

Check the Know Before You Go thread ( JCT lease purchase data. Know before you go. ).

Bottom line, $50,000 (ebita) with 8ish weeks off. But I do maximize my clock time. That means I don't burn On Duty hours while somebody else is loading the truck; fuel time is usually 9-15 min area; usually no more than 15min for pti, etc.
