I've read at least three testimonials of CRST offering false information on the driver's DAc report, and as of this past September, it is patently illegal for any company to file false information, known as "blackballing", in order to prevent a driver from moving on with their lives.

Anyone who is victimized by this tactic, needs to fight false negative information on their report.

It is a good practice to document all the conditions under which you quit a job. This includes photographing the inside and outside of the truck, making sure that you turn in all required paperwork, including logs up to the minute that you terminate, and have someone SIGN for everything that you turn back in to the company.

If you encounter hostility when attempting to do this, by golly call the non-emergency line of the local law enforcement and have an officer come out and witness what they refuse to do.

Persuse the forums for other threads on USIS/DAC reports, to learn of ways in how to fight false charges, and how to protect yourself from unscrupulous behavior when terminating a job with a crappy motor carrier.

We haven't had alot of bad stuff written about CRST, but to read this in one thread, and by so many different people, the red flags are flying, and this company may be headed to the top of the bad list...and quick.

This is very useful info, TurboTrucker. I work there now and have no complaints. I never signed a contract. I know better than that. If the day comes to move on, I will definately take your advice and document everything. I hope this is just a few bad experiences being documented here. Only a dozen complaints, if that. They have over 2,000 drivers. I am still not convinced. And furthermore, there are always two sides to every story. But I say this with all due respect for everyone who had a negative experience with CRST, or any company, for that matter.

And I'm in no way demeaning you for your choice to work for CRST. I've known a few people over the years that liked them...

I ran across a figure that doesn't make them look so well....

In the court documents surrounding the dispute they had with JB Hunt this past February, it was quoted in court that CRST is suffering a turnover rate of 180%.

CRST has roughly 2,800 drivers on staff, which means it goes through around 100 drivers a week.

I never took offense at anything you said. I appreciate your input and your thorough research in the matter. However, I am just trying to think positively, and I am happy there. And as for the extremely high turnover, I think many newbie companies have similar numbers, but I am not as educated in the facts as you. Perhaps I could do some research, but I am just plain lazy. I am on hometime and I just wanna have fun, relax, eat, drink beer, and so on.

TurboTrucker you are all right in my book! Peace, brother.

Remember, "rich" is a relative term, so if you're happy with it then by all means stick with it.

    Hello Beanfacekilla,

I guess you know about the CRST driver that didn't quite clear the R.R. Trax in Chicago??
I had never seen a train hit a trailer b4, I usually only see the aftermath.
It looked quite hilarious except of course to the driver and the owners of the vehicles that he totaled.
EVERY COMPANY has its share of goofy drivers and in contrast has their share of great drivers. It all balances.

    Hello oklateam,

I would fight that "report" and have it exonerated somehow or at the very least print a letter and have DAC or USIS insert it in yer file explaining what actually transpired.
Some companies will do ANYTHING to some drivers simply because the drivers didn't "act the right way" or do something that the company wanted done in some particular fashion that is usually out of context with the norm.

EVERY COMPANY HAS ITS GOOD AND BAD SIDES!! Some companies have more of one than the other yet they ALL HAVE BOTH!!

I hope the BEst of WELLness 2-u-n-urs-n ALL (ad)ventures!!

Thanx bro. Yeah I saw the train track massacre. What an idiot, huh? LOL. I think there may be a strong possibility he didn't even know his trailer was on the tracks. Good grief!!!

You need to get in touch with USIS (parent company for our beloved DAC reports)- there is a process to get a rebuttal put in your file. I will try and find their number and post it here. good luck!

What did he do? Did the moron stop on the tracks or something, or did he bottom out on his landing gear and get stuck?

My God, that should be as basic a concept as knowing how to descend a mountain without killing yourself.
