I've got an ez pass thru nj you get get discounts on njtpk , pa tpk none on new York thru way. On the gwb the discounts vary according to what time u go across 6 am to 8 pm $95.00 8pm to 10 pm $85.00 10 pm to 6 am $77.50 ( should say all the outer bridges). no discount on the inner bridges or verizzanno, u have to have an ez pass issued by the mta for their discount. NYs only offers discount for ez pass issued in their state ( it aint much of a discount). A word to the wise I just caught new York thru way charging me $86.00 for a $7.00 toll so always keep an eye on your statements

EZ Pass is a network and if you have one the discounts each state provides is applied to any EZ Pass holder regardless of what state it was signed up from. PA wants 500 to sign up and MD was only 130 for a regular transponder. From MY research MD was the best deal.
Hegemeister Thanks this. -
Your discounts vary widely, as has already been said. $130 for a transponder. Your nuts. Jersey cost $30 plus what ever balance you want to open your account with. There is a minimum tho to open, then you can adjust that later online. I have mine set to self replenish for a $1,000. And at a $100 or $150 balance it triggers a replenishment. -
132.50 was including the transponder and only a 125 deposit towards my account. PA wanted 500 not including the transponder. So don't come in here like Mr. Knowitall. I have zero reason to lie. What the hell would I be gaining by doing so?! My transponder issued from MD will still get me the EZ Pass discount listed on PA's Turnpike calculator. Look it up yourself!

FYI PA will lower the amount to $ 300 but that is still high.

That's a very recent event. I called them about a month ago and was told 500. 300 is still better than 500 I guess. As much as I despise MD at least you can open up an account for the 7.50 dollar (standard transponder) and 125 tolls. Not bad to get rolling versus places like Pennsylvania.

Does using an EZ-Pass save you money? -
