Get a vibratech damper. If there is 500,000 miles on the ones you have they are at the end of their life.

The c-16 crank is different than 6nz and a-cert. Same stroke as a-cert but different rod bearing journals.

According to this the acert crank is the same as the C16 crank. Are they wrong?

I’m only asking because everything I’m finding on the internet says there the same. Can you point me in the right direction that says there different?

Like I mentioned before the rod bearing journals are different. Not as wide as an a-cert, same diameter. The mains are the same for all 3406 series engines. If you have a c-16 crank you must use the c-16 rods and pistons and liners. The a-cert liners are the same all the way to the first e-model engines. The c-16 liners are a few mm larger bore for the larger diameter c-16 pistons.

Ok, So is it possible to mount the C-16 piston to the C-15 rod? Or is that different as well?

Yes, this is wrong. The C-16 crank uses the same rod journals as the 3406E/C-15.

The rod journal on an acert 15.2L crank combined the journal diameter of the early narrow bearing cranks and the width of the later wide bearing cranks.
