Does Magnum run teams during the training process for newbies?
-
The trainee should do all the work. I never let my trainer do anything unless he was showing me how to do something a different way or correcting something I was doing wrong.
Hope this helps..mitrucker, ncmickey and augiedoggie41 Thank this. -
Must be something to the koolaid cult. Id imagine when youre new and your prospects are the mega carriers or superservice, or like companies, and a company like magnum exsist, its an easy hook line and sink'er. Or maybe there are just plenty of bad companies, and truckers are seduced when they finally get a good one. My experience is limited with all that, but if everyone is saying its some good koolaid, crap... poor me a glass!
I feel like Ive been raised in a trailer park my whole and we couldnt afford the sugar for the koolaid.carramrod32 Thanks this. -
Question Magnum drivers: Who's job is it to make delivey appts? How often is it that the driver has to make an appt? My concerns are repeatedly being disregarded by a certain dispatcher. Being rushed off the phone and messages not returned in a time critical manner. It doesn't happen often, but with this person I constantly have to second guess their dispatch. To my benefit, I'm a good communicator and call if something in the load offer doesn't add up. It's a two way street though, and if the other end is not engaged it falls apart. I have enough to contend with being on time and out of the ditch to have to do part of their work as well. Is it me or is this to be expected?

Dispatch works with planners with regards to planning deliveries, it's not your responsibility to set appointments - they should come in your load offer, the exception comes on broker loads.
If you're having communication issues and have tried working with the individual you can reach out to Tony first if you are more comfortable with that or go directly to Chad.
It is a two way street...Lowlite Thanks this. -

Well sitting here in Marion, NC at the Pilot and I have 14:00 p.u. at Kay Chemical in Winston-Salem. Gonna give them a ring to see if I can go in early. Delivered yesterday over in Black Mountain.
