Moved into a brand new Mack this morning. This is going to take some getting used to. I only had a couple of hours so pretty much cleared everything out of the old truck and threw it into the new one. Probably going to get an inverter to make use of the 120v shore power plugs.

I keep bumping my head going from the cab to the bunk. Why they didn’t make the floor 1 level is beyond me.

It’s a 12 speed automatic which is beyond wierd.

It's the same engine and transmission combo that's in the Volvo.

    D-11 or D-13 with a I-Shift.

Keep an eye on that Mack forward steer axle. Don't let it ram anything serious. It's a good truck but that front end...

Your transmission if true to Mack History will have short gears which is good in many ways.

Good luck! It's a smaller truck than most, but you might like it alot once you learn it's little things.

I just got into a 2015 Mack Pinnacle myself...they should issue hard hats when they issue keys... oh wait, I am gonna pull a flatbed, so they did issue me a hard hat. Been in it 2 weeks, and I still have a sore spot on the top of my head, and I am surprised I don't have a big bruise on my forehead from walking into the cabs overhead shelf.

You're correct, the M-drive takes some getting use to. I am still trying to hit the missing clutch pedal to kick the cruise off, and keep almost falling out of the seat when I try to rest my right arm on the missing shifter...but, unlike earlier Macks (that had the E7), this one has the E8, and it pulls like a raped ape. All said, I kinda like it.

I drove a Pinnacle with the mDrive 12 spd. Loved it. Of course mine was a daycab. Great truck in the city.

Left there 2 weeks ago, and they do have flatbeds, but under the company name of Ike transport.

Congrats! Does it have that new truck smell? I'm surprised you had to wait so long with your seniority. The Mack is low in the front, but the truck pulls better than the Prostar. Plus you probably will rarely do a parked regen now. I heard there's a special way to engage the PTOs with the automatics. Do you know how that works?

Thanks for the heads up on PTO Running dedicated I rarely use mine but it does come up occasionally.

My Prostar had 598000 on it. It was new when I got it. High Point hangs onto trucks longer than other terminals. I think it’s because the Shop is one of the best in the system.

I got to run 350 miles loaded up 81 from Roanoke to Kreamer Pa last night. I realized then that there is a switch at the bottom of the accelerator peddle. It downshifts the transmission if you trip it. I thought that thing was possessed when every time I hammered down it downshifted, ran the rpms up then upshifted again.

If you're empty, and want it to skip gears on downshifts, hit and briefly hold the engine button under the mDrive selector display next to the reverse button.
