After a year away, signed on with Dark Horse Express

Figured I’d start a new thread since I didn’t notice one on my current employer. I’ve been off the road (OTR) for over a year. After a lot of research, I decided to drive for a small carrier based out of Hendersonville, TN. Plan on doing updates on my adventure just like I did back in my Lessors, Inc days. Was assigned a Kenworth T660 Glider. Very nice truck with all the bells and whistles. Left out yesterday, heading to Arlington, TX and preplanned back from there to Lebanon, TX. More to come....

 

Was able to unload early today. Got my pick ups made and heading back to TN. Dropping this trailer and picking up a loaded one, heading to Gainesville for a D/H back to TN. First time in a Glider truck and so far, I’m a fan. Pulls like a truck should.

 

I did my D/H yesterday in Gainesville. Got my preplan. I drop this Gainesville at PFG in Lebanon and pick up loaded trailer for McKinney PFG, D/H there and head back to Lebanon. Have never done so many D/H pulling reefers. I’m a fan!

 

Nope. I believe since I have no points or tickets on my record. That helped. Small company too. Might have something to do with it. They require 3 years experience.

 

We have 25 trucks total with about half being O/O. 90% customer based freight. Was told I’d basically know all the places we go in about 4 weeks or so.

 

Made it home this morning from Mckinny. Left out last Tuesday. I turned 4,061 miles for the week on elogs. 717 and 709 the last two days alone. Home till Thursday afternoon. They offered a $250 bonus if you left out on Thursday and I jumped on it. Going back to Mckinny for another D/H run to Lebanon.
