These "new" or "upgraded" blood pressure "standards" could SERIOUSLY effect the employment of various occupation groups as corrections, law enforcement, military, and the driving of vehicles requiring a CDL, (trucks, buses, and heavy construction equipment).

God bless every American and their families! God bless the U.S.A.!

Medications these days have so many side effects that exercise should be the choir of keeping blood pressure down.

I saw that. It's disturbing, because being the eternal pessimist, I see a different approach. The healthcare system is all about money. If they lower the guidelines, it's more money for the already billionaire drug companies, and all down the chain, right to more money for the clinics and doctors doing the testing. Legally, I can't drive a truck anymore, not that I'd want to, but my BP is borderline by the old standards, and would require MORE BP medications, I'm already on 3. This healthcare business is going to be ruin of society, if it isn't already, you'll see.

When they change the standards (move the goal posts), ones lifestyle has little to do with it.

It's really amazing before i'd left Aussie land to come and try driving big rigs over yonder i had pretty much the perfect blood pressure reading 120/80 after spending around 12 months over there eating all you can eat buffets and drinking lots of soda my blood pressure had gone up to over 130/ 85 still ok i guess but it was a concern i put it down to all the sugar i was eating and drinking. Plus i'd gained about 14 kg thats about 30lb imperial.

Those are not worth a ####, I was issued a bottle of bp pills after testing out at 220 over 130 a few months back. It took 4 days to return to 135 over 78 or so and if you stopped it back up it goes.

Im back to normal range for my situation thankfully without BP meds.

I have fought BP before when I was young trying to get hired. I would not be hired because of a simple 135 over 90 something. Silly. I finally got it down to 78 by failing to eat breakfast and leave off the smoke and coffee that day of interview and medical DOT exam. And I was only 21. Not lived long enough to develop much of anything....

For my part, Im very careful how and when or IF I access medical care. I have not gone to the ER for years enduring migraines that usually got a demerol shot back then. I go outside and sit in the cold a hour, poof no more ache.

Here is another tip. Trucker Candy, Moltrin 900 mg every 4 hours. Aint nothing outside of fever that cannot be fought with that.

    TallJoe and KB3MMX Thank this.
