Magnum is out, we don't go into nazifornia. Shame though, I've been with them almost a year now and they are the best company I have worked for. Pay is on a sliding scale based on performance from $.39 to $.50 plus $.05 extra for hazmat loads. Go home when you want for as long as you want, no forced dispatch, no driver managers, no pre planned routes or fuel stops, peterbilt 587s with fridge and apu, pet policy, no trailers over 4 years old....I can't say anough good things about them.

There is nothing good about reefer outfits.
They don't pay any more than dry van freight and you consistently get long wait times and lumpers are a headache.
Trailer washouts and mainly 45k loads suck.
    Reefer is for noobs.

Well no offense, but why are you replying to a reefer thread in a reefer forum about a reefer driver looking for another reefer company? You added nothing to the conversation other than making yourself sound like an elitist jerk while insulting drivers that would read this thread.

That sounds like something a "noob" would say. Obviously haven't been around enough reefer to know they're not all the same. A shame some see a few comments like this and take it to heart.

I'm not sure why my buddy prefers reefer? Could be he gets longer runs? I know that's how it was when I was a noob at May Trucking. Their reefer fleet ran coast to coast. Their dry van was mostly 11 western.

I used to get a lot of miles running reefer with them, not so much dry van though. There's a lot of responsibility that goes with reefer. As far as I can tell, I think Steel Dragon's assessment of (entry level) companies that haul reefer don't really offer that much more per mile hauling reefer vs. dry van it seems?

As a side note, I have a lot of respect for guys that run reefer. It can be challenging loading and unloading at those cold storage facilities. I was always worried that the reefer was going to stop working during my break, etc. @Broke Down 69 mind has been taken over by his reefer trailer! LOL

It haunts me. I'm wearing a tinfoil hat now and it does help a bit.

    Happy Thanksgiving, buddy.
